CZECH NEWSPAPERS ON TIBET

The last issue of TYDEN, prominent weekly in Czech Republic, brought under the headline "Support of Nonviolence" the informations about the situation in Tibet and the international campagne "Flag for Tibet".

On the fromt page of Vecerni Praha (Evening Prague) was published on Thursday, March the 7th, an article titled "Zizkov (Prague 3) is in dialogue with China" together with a snap of Mayor of Prague 3 while posting the Tibetan flag on the townhall. Article informs about the campagne and about the pressure of Chinese Ambassador, who had several meetings with the Mayor explaining him why not participate in this campagne.

On Friday, March the 8th, on the 3rd page of Mlada Fronta DNES (most popular daily in CR) was published the article also about the international campagne on Tibet and about the pressure of Chinese Embassy to Prague 3. The attitude of the Czech Foreign Ministry was repeated there by following statement of Chief of its Press Deprartment, Mr. Boruvka: "Our Ministry will not enter this dialogue, the Czech Republic is for indivisible China". (What does it mean he did not add...)

On Friday, March the 8th, on the 5th page of Cesky Tydenik, one of the most spread weekly in CR, was published large article written by me and titled "Tibet needs our support". All the informations about the situation of Tibet and all the initiatives of the campagne "Freedom for Tibet" were once more repeated there. The whole 18th page of the same issue was devoted to Tibet: an article "Tibetan Culture is Likely to Die" and the interview with the Dalai Lama (given to Der Spiegel) titled "Help to Save Tibet, Then Tibet Will Help the Mankind".
