Dear Mr.Sitin,

Dear friends from Split,

It's my pleasure, even if in this way, to greet you in the name of the Transnational Radical Party at the first Assembly of the fully registrated Tibet Support Group in Split.

I still recall with sincere emotion my recent trip to Split with the representative of H.H. the Dalai Lama for Central and Eastern Europe Mr.Chope Paljor Tsering, the deputy of the croatian Parliament Ms.Tereza Ganza-Aras and Marina Sikora, respectively president and vice-president of the croatian section of the TRP.

Since then till this solemn Assembly, several activities have been taken due to the birth of the first Tibet Support Group in Croatia. You are now to be dealing with numerous initiatives which I'm sure, thanks to your enthusiasm, will be successful. The Transnational Radical Party is prompt for a collaboration and I hope in a worthfull common work on several initiatives for Freedom in Tibet and democracy in China.

One first step is just in front of us: the fast dialogue initiative of 2nd October for the liberation of the 7 year old Gedhun Chokey Nyime, the XIth reincarnation of the Panchen Lama and for the liberation of the most famous chinese dissident Wei Jingsheng for whom the TRP has also promoted his candidacy to the Nobel Peace Prize 1997 collecting hundreds of signatures of parliamentarians and university professors.

So far, more then 450 people from 20 different countries joined the fasting dialogue initiative which is aimed to ask from the ministers of foreign affairs in each country to undertake all the possible measures for the liberation of the Panchen Lama and Wei.

A first but important step for the beginning of the preparation of the big worldwide movement "Satyagraha 1998." for Freedom in Tibet.

Let us work with all our strength to make true the dream of each Tibetan: our next big meeting will see us participating at the 2nd European demonstration in Geneva for the March 10th 1997., anniversary of the tibetan Uprising day. For that date we will ask, as we did this year, to more than 60.000 thousands Mayors all over the world to rise the tibetan national flag as sign of solidarity with the struggle of the tibetan people.
