Statement By Mr. Victor Pace representative of Malta

Mr. chairman,

[...] My delegation has no hesitation in supporting the granting of a continuing mandate to the Preparatory Committee to continue its usefully work on the draft statute. The granting of such a mandate would be an expression of the commitment of the international community to continue the process leading to the establishment for the court. This in our opinion would be one of the most important developments for justice and peace since the foundation of the United Nations.
