Statement by Felicity Wong representative of New Zealand

Mr. Chairman,

The New York Time this week put the case very well. It is time to turn our attention to beyond the procedural debate about setting the date for the conference in 1998. 1998 now appears to have general agreement in our committee and we look forward to the adoption by consensus of such a text of a resolution. It is with pleasure that we take up the Government of Italy's Renewed invitation to us as host of the 1998 conference.
