KIEV (A.Bukalov) The collection of signatures in support of the creation of an international criminal tribunal was conducted in Kiev in Independence Square by activists of the Ukrainian association of Amnesty International (UAMA). The collection was held within the framework of Amnesty International Week, held in many countries from 14 to 20 October. UAMA representatives were received at the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In discussions with Anatoly Oleynik, deputy head of the department of international organisations, they expressed the hope that the Ukrainian delegation would speak out in support of the creation of an international criminal tribunal at the session of the UN General Assembly. As Roman Grechanik, acting chairman of the UAMA national committee, reported on 21 October, Oleynik assured the activists that the Ukrainian delegation will adhere to precisely this position.
