I rember his declaration to Radical Parlamentary Assamble, in Sofia, on which he said that: "It is not used to me to be a member of a Political Party, but if it, some day, would be a reality, it has to be to the Radical Transnational Party".
Recently, we are known, Adem DEMACI, "Sacharov Prize" proposed by Radical Exponents to European Parliament, has been a member of a Political Kosova's Party. Has he forgotten his declaration? or his political engagement is not any more in contact to the Radical Party? or the Radical Party has not any more contact with him and his personal cause and activities on the Human Rights field, especially in Kosova, or...?
In reference to these questions, I am publishing a public interview of him.
Kosova Parlamentary Party invited you to join its political life, as one of its main leaders. How did you receive it?
Before this invitation, another one was made to me by General Council of this Party. I thought about it, but noting the events which were not developing as I wanted, then I found reasonable to join this Party. Now I am its member and I am behaving as its member, aiming at a further promotion. As far as the Forum of this Party and my membership are concerned, I can say that it was well received by this Party and those who do not belong to this Party. So, they expres their readiness to immediately promotion to the leading bodies of this Party. But, I want this to be realised by degrees, step by step and all this process to be a bit slow.
Political life in Kosova is presently dominated by the Democratic league (LDK). At what extent will your engagement in politics influence in making Kosova political life more colourfull?
My opinion is that the LDK domination in the political life of Kosova was an obstacle and lack of variety in the political life, while the strengthening of the Parlamentary Party, which is the second Party in Kosova, means strength and organization. I believe that this will be a dynamic element of our political life and it will make LDK to work better.
If Mr. DEMACI will become Chairman of the Kosova Parlamentari Party, will ask to summon the Kosova Parliament?
Absolutely yes.
How will you influence, since presently you do not have mandate of deputy?
The our Party has 13 deputies and stil it has some vacant seats for other members of the Party. So it will not be a problem, for me, to become member of the our Parliament.
Recently, Tirana's official press and official policy are appealing to the kosova's Albanian to support demostrations of serbian opposition, Do you share the same opinion?
As may be you know I sent a messagge in support of these demostrations, which echoed among the ranks of the serbian intellectuals and demostrators. I also think that we should support these protests because Serbia's democratizaton is a condition that will make Kosova to be liberated at a low cost and rapidly.
Will DEMaCI's engagement in politics make the poltics more radical or tolerant, especially the Serb-Albanian relationship?
I joined politics with purpose of avoiding its radicalism. A new way of dissatisfied people is emerging. They are looking for another solution. To prevent this process, such a possibilty, I joined politics, i.e. to channel, articulate and institutionalize non-violent methods of political actions. This is my aim, to work and give contribute to the development, strengthening and enlargement of the Parlamentary Party. I make efforts to attract even those that belong to other Parties and are not satisfied. We ask them to join us and make a civilised and modern political fight, just like the one the world has to asks and to accept us. That is why I am against any kind of radicalism.
How can the active resistance begin in Kosova?
We will think about it. Now I am an ordinary party member aiming at being promoted, but such issues will be discussed even with others. It will be a result of joint co-operation and decisions that will be made with the presence of other Party Members and in other Party Forum.
You think that the so called passive resistance is gravely radicalizing the relations between Albanians and Serbs. Do you think that an active resistance means the opposite?
I think so. This kind of resistance will neutralise all those forces that there are discouraged, disillusioned by the present policy of passive resistance. These forces will see that the opposite resistance will give results, so the number of dissatisfied will be reduced.
Has Prishtina ever thought that Tirana always appealed not to have an active resistance in Kosova?
It is not true that Tirana made such an appeal. These are judgements of those who wanted to justify their policy.
It is noticed a change in Tirana's official policy toward the whole political spectrum of Kosova?
Tirana's policy has been constant and supports of Kosova's movements, Kosova independence, but it is also experienced some very small oscillations. Recently, it is totally crystalized, this is clearly revealed in recent declarations of Mr. Tritan SHEHU and the President BERISHA. Such declarations are very favourable and supports the albanian mevement.
