Whereas the inalienable historical rights of the Sovereign existence of Nagaland are indisputable, and whereas the firm stand taken on this by the Naga people, KWIA,the Flemish support group for Indigenous Peoples, commit itself to support the inherent right of the Naga people to self-determination and Independence.
In the light of the information we received fron the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN), headed by Isac Chishi Swu, we appeal to the Indian Government to stop the atrocities towards killing of innocent Naga citizens, and to stop the strategies set up to divide the Naga communities and organisations.
The Naga People as a whole has the right to determine its own future, its political institutions and its own social systems without foreign interference, that is, free from alien occupation, both military and civil. KWIA encourages the Naga people in their work to put this right to self-determinatio into practice with the support and participation of all Nagas.
As long as the armed occupation of Nagaland by the states of India and Myanmar (Burma), and process of colonisation of the Naga territory by non-Nagas settlers continues, we respect and support the Naga resistance by all legal means, including armned resistance, as authorised by international law.
For sake of peace and justice. We strongly urge the Governments of India and Myanmar to recognise the right of the Nagas to determine their own future.
