Tense situation in Gostivar & Tetovo of Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia! Albanians components of this former Yugoslav country declare that they are more than 40 percent of the population of Macedonia, but the Macedonian Government claims that they are accounted for only 22 percent!

Ethnic Albanians of this country who are seeking greater recognition in the former Yugoslav Repubblic have flown the flag of the neighbouring Albanian Republic and thiers too in 20 municipalities they control in western Macedonia, but, Police removed the albanian flag after parliament passed a law on twesday limiting the display of flags to special occassions. Certainly a clear violation of human rights and albanian coulden't stay calmy...

Macedonia radio said shots were fired and petrol bombs in fighting during which two polices cars were destroid. At least 13 people were hurt in clashes in the western Macedonian towns of Gostivar & Tetovo on these days between polices, and hundreds of ethnic Albanians angered by the removal of the Albanian flag from the town halls.

Unofficial reports said 10 demostrators and two policemen were injurid, two seriously, and hundreds of protestors are arrested.

In the mean time, all the Albanian Political Parties of the Albanian Republic condemed such using of force by Macedonian Government, and called for non violence methods of resolving the tense situation of the Country.

The macedonian Ambasador has been called to Foreign Albanian Ministry to recieve a protest note.
