Why don't you do something to fight an even more odious extension of the police state; that is, the death penalty? The question is: Are the war on drugs and the death penalty, for example, components of a larger problem? And if so, what is your parties stance to end all the intrusions into individual rights under a police state?
From this perspective, your efforts to call an end to the war on drugs seems short-sighted, leaving you open to attacks that what you're really after is the opportunity to get high. That opportunity may or may not be worth fighting for, but given the stigmatism already attached to drug use, it seems to me that your focus necessarily limits the your audience to those who already agree with you. I fear that will further push your message to the fringe.
