THERE ARE MORE AND MORE DRUG ADDICTS IN RUSSIA

According to different estimations, there are 2,5 millions drug users among Russia, about 1 million of drug addicts registered. The amount of those, who tested a drug at least ones is 11 millions, i.e. about 10% of the entire population. It was stated by Nikolaj Gerasimenko, chairman of the committee of on health care of the State Duma. According to his opinion, it is necessary now to adopt the law "On drug substances and psychotropics" elaborated by the committee. It is the more urgent, because there are materials of so called Radical Party being spread in the State Duma, a party which calls for legalizing drugs. Gerasimenko underlined, that urgency of this law is caused also by the fact, that according to international estimations Russia has the most high dynamic of drug use growth. "If 7 or 10 years ago the yearly circulation of drugs was counted by grams, now there is matter of kilograms and tones," he told.
