Seen the enormous importance represented by the new technologies, notably their growing role in the economy and in the labour market as well as the perspectives that they open in terms of the development of democracy and the reinforcement of the links between the institutions and the citizens, and with regard to the recent american declarations concerning the transformation of the net by creating Internet 2, can the Commission make un update on the reactions already obtained concerning the whole of its initiatives and on the situation inside the Member States as well as on the measures it has taken to face the issue of Internet 2?
