KOSOVO/RUSSIA: "IT IS HARD TO IMAGINE MORE MISERABLE AND NASTY VISION THAN COWARDLY AND HELPLESS RUSSIAN MILITARISM. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THE MISSILE AND BOMB STRIKE ARE THE BEST SOLUTION. LAW AND JUSTICE ARE MORE EFFECTIVE WEAPONS" - STATEMENT OF ARA SECRETARY NIKOLAJ KHRAMOV
``It is hard to imagine something more pitiful, ridiculous and yet nasty than vision of almost all of the Russian political establishment figures - from President Yeltsin who has suddenly shown an interest in life, to Mr. Zhirinovsky who excite himself as usually, together with Mr. Zuyganov and "apple" Mr. Lukin - all throwing themselves to protect Milosevic from "NATO militarists", blowing up their crops like a wood toads in effort to frighten the enemy with "the serious consequences" for relations between NATO and Russia, while still keeping to follow the western financial decision makers in Washington, stepping on the laces of their own pants and repeating: "gimme a million!".
Very special and charming are the trumpet sounds that makes, beating himself in chest, the chief of the General Division on Mobilization and Management of the Ministry of Defense, Vladislav Putin, who had yesterday dressed in field battle uniform for some reason. According to him, the Russian Army where ordinary soldiers are dying from cold and hunger, where hundreds of them committing suicide and thousands are running away, where officers do not receive their salary for years, where nine of the ten tanks are suitable only for spare parts - that same army "is equipped with all the necessary to carry out any order of the President and Government regarding the current situation in Kosovo"! Should we take these statements as the willingness of the Russian warrior to die without doubt in battle against "NATO aggressors", protecting the holy right of Milosevic to perform genocide on Kosovo Albanians? We hope that we should not. Perhaps it's "just" another autumn attack of an old militaristic anti-western xenophob
ic psychosis that most of Russian political leaders are ill with. Fortunately, the deafeningly loud but cowardly helpless Russian militarism is not capable of anything serious outside the country.
However, this does not mean that missile and bomb strike on Serbian military targets are the best way of resolving the Kosovo problem. The solution for the Balkan nations (including the Serbs themselves) is in the radical action on the problem of Milosevic. The only way to do that is to politically neutralize the Belgrade dictator by bringing in an official indictment against him at Hague Tribunal (as it was already done to his "smaller brothers" Karadjic and Mladic), formally incriminating the war crimes and the crimes against humanity which had been and still being committed since 1991 in Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo. This is exactly the aim of the impetuously growing worldwide campaign organized by Transnational Radical Party to collect the signatures on the appropriate official appeal addressed to Tribunal in Hague. About 400 parliamentarians and 25 thousand citizens from all over the world (including Russia) have already joined it. Law and Justice is more strong, precise and effective weapon than the crui
se missiles. And, thank God, the use of this weapon does not need to be approved by Russia that becomes more and more shaded into red and brown.''
