Statement of Lev Levinson, member of Directory Board of the "Club Khramov - Association for Libertarian Reforms".
Moscow, November 21, 1998. ``Murder of Galina Starovojtova is first of all an act of punishment of an independent politician. Independent from party and economical nomenclature which holds power, a nomenclature which distributed all left, right and other centers, a nomenclature which established its own rules of political game and supervising structure of participants. Aliens do not pass here. Starovojtova wasn't peculiar for all those who aim for power. She wasn't. Instead, she was an authoritative, bright, strong competitor.
She impeded political elephants to stamp Russian space.
And still: Galina Starovojtova, one of the few public politician of such scale, was a human rights activist. She protected civil rights, helped us, fighters for libertarian reforms, to assert individual freedom against state violence.''
