To inform about the truth fast and in the right way is the slogan of the
daily newspaper "Kosova Sot." However, this newspaper has been
restricted from Belgrade regime.
A brief information, broadcasted through 'Yugoslav' based agency Tanjug,
said on Thursday that Serbian regime organs in Prishtina have opened a
trial against Mr. Ruzhdi Kadriu, publisher and against Mr. Ibrahim
Rexhepi, chief editor of the daily Albanian newspaper "Kosova Sot",
published in Prishtina.
The purpose is quite clear: To obstruct informing in Albanian language,
to suspend the truth, to restrict from publishing the independent
newspaper "Kosova Sot".
The act of starting the trial proves this aim of the official Belgrade.
The way of writing this news enforces furthermore the pressure that is
being made to the independent media in Kosova.
Being attacked by Belgrade regime, for media, this shows another prove
that you are being informed objectively. This is professional's job
prove. However, in the meantime it shows serious threat for further
work. Obstruction of the truth from Belgrade regime now has become a
law.
For how much longer we will be able to do our work in the way the
journalism requires it, we are going to publish our newspaper, with all
our abilities to do the job that is known by universal acts of
journalism, notwithstanding pressures and obstructions that Serbian
authorities are making against us.
We demand from You to influence the Serbian authorities not to obstruct
the truth of what is happening in Kosova and in the world, what is being
attempted to be achieved through restricting the open and independent
newspaper "Kosova Sot."
