European Parliament: Question time
Question on the physical integrity of President Milosevic
tabled by Olivier Dupuis (ERA group)
While declarations by representatives of governments of Member States supporting the indictment of President Milosevic for war crimes and crimes against humanity are increasing and while the European Parliament has, with a huge majority, pronounced itself of the same opinion during the plenary session of last April, what initiatives has the Council taken in order to ensure President Milosevics physical integrity ? What measures has the Council taken or intend to take, including measures via its Member States also members of NATO, in order to ensure that NATO takes all the necessary measures to ensure M. Milosevics integrity and to arrest and transfer him before the The Hague Tribunal after his indictment ? Furthermore, what initiatives has the Council taken or intend to take in order to speed up the handing over of evidence, currently in the hands of Member States, proving Milosevics guilt, to the Chief prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal ?
