Moscow, May 19, 1999. Transnational Radical Party and Antimilitarist Radical Association (ARA) launch petition campaign named "The Third Millennium Without Draft Slavery" aimed at abrogation of conscription and transition to completely professional (voluntary) principle of Russian armed forces' recruitment.
On Friday, May 21, in Moscow in National Press Institute will be held a news conference devoted to the start of this campaign. In the news conference will take part:
- Nikolaj KHRAMOV, Russian coordinator of Radical Party and secretary of ARA;
- Konstantin BOROVOJ, member of the State Duma (independent), president of Party For Economic Liberty, member of General Council of ARA;
- Anna ZAJCEVA, treasurer of ARA;
- Julij RYBAKOV, member of the State Duma (independent), leader of Democratic Russia Party.

On Saturday, May 22, at 12:00 AM the official opening of petition campaign "The Third Millennium Without Draft Slavery" will be held at rally on Pushkin square (at Alexander Pushkin's monument).
