Dear Mr. Dupuis,
I am Nguyen Thanh Giang the one who was arrested on a Hanoi's Street and had been imprisoned since March 4, 1999.
On May 10, 1999 I was liberated on the bail basis. I learnt that I have been released only after such a short interval of imprisonment partially thank to your worthy effort to struggle for my freedom. I would like here to express my deeply-hearted gratitude for your concerns and your effective intervention in my case. This event enhances my belief that the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is getting strengthen and rapidly developing world-wide.
Up to present, I am still being restricted by a police's writ which ban me to go elsewhere outside my residential place. This has made me suffered from oppressive and miserable feelings for being in the status of "home detention"; even so I always aspire to have better conditions to struggle for Freedom and Democracy of our People. Thanks again and hope that global alliance for Democracy and Human rights will go vastly, build up strongly and win greater victories.
Sincerely yours,
Nguyen Thanh Giang
