Hearing in the case of the EP political groups

The EU Court of First Instance held hearings on Monday of the parties in the case involving application for an interim measure lodged by Charles de Gaulle and Jean-Claude Martinez against the European Parliament. The two French National Front Members of the EP hope to see the Court force Parliament to temporarily suspend the prohibition under which they cannot create a political group with, among others, the Italian radicals elected on Emma Bonino's list, due to the lack of political affinity between them. The two MEPs dispute the validity of Parliament's decision.
The President of the Court could adopt urgent measures through a court order. The Court would then have to rule at a later dateon the substance of the case.
