Moscow, December 9, 1999

Today the militants of the Radical Party and the Antimilitarist Radical Association (ARA) have carried out a series of manifestations at the embassies of the Western countries in Moscow, calling the West to freeze any financial aid, any credit to the Russian government until the war in Chechnya goes on.

At 11:00 a.m. the radicals have come to the American Embassy in Novinskii boulevard holding slogans in Russian and in English: "America, don't give Your money for the Chechen war!", "West, stop financing the genocide in Chechnya!", "Silence + credits = complicity", "Don't PUT IN money in PUTIN's war!". At midday similar manifestation has started near the Austrian Embassy, its slogans appealing to the Europe: now Austria presides the Council of Europe. At 4:00 p.m. members of the RP and of the ARA have carried out a manifestation against the financial aid to the Russian government and its war near the Embassy of Japan.

We would like to remember You that tomorrow, on December 10, the Human Rights Day, militants of the Radical Party and the ARA are going to take part in an anti-war manifestation, organised by the Democratic Union of Russia (Valeria Novodvorskaya) in Pushkin square in Moscow, near the monument of Pushkin. The manifestation will start at 6:00 p.m.
