DECLARATION OF NIKOLAY KHRAMOV, RUSSIAN COORDINATOR OF THE TRANSNATIONAL RADICAL PARTY:
"The day before yesterday it wasn't Russia who suffered a defeat during the voting of the ECOSOC on the status of the TRP, as states Maksim Yusin in today's issue of "Izvestiya", it was the KGB-style Putin's regime, the international department of the new-old Central Committee - KGB. At this time we address our gratitude and our congratulations on the occasion of the victory of the idea of the human rights, justice and common sense not only to the diplomates, governments, parliamentaries and political figures from democratic countries. Our gratitude and our congratulations - also to the deputies of the State Duma (such as Sergey Kovalyov, Yuly Rybakov, Sergey Mitrokhin, Artur Myaki), of the Moscow City Duma (such as Irina Osokina, Irina Rukina), to the human rights champions, to all that Russia and its citizens who during these weeks and months fought together with the Radicals for human rights and for the freedom of speech in the UN. It's their victory.
But it is still a long way to another victory - victory of the peace and human rights in Chechnya where the same Putin's regime continues the bloodshed and military crimes. These crimes were documented by our party-fellow Antonio Russo, a journalist and a radical, who was murdered in Georgia four days ago. The victory in New-York is his victory too. A posthumous victory. We all must continue his and our cause - in the UN, in Chechnya, in Moscow, in Rome, all around the world".
