ISRAEL
According to a recent study, some neurologists say that addiction to drugs is influenced by genes. Heroin addicts, in particular, have a special variety of genes called "adventure", that determines some character's tracts like curiosity and the research of pleasure. All those who have this special variety are likely to become heroin addicted twice as much as anybody else.

In 1994, the US Government, observing the freedom of religion laws, allowed the members of the Native American Church to use peyote, the cactus rich of alkaloids similar to the mescaline with hallucinogen effects. The Pentagon has now to do the same and allow Native Americans to use peyote.

In California the medical use of marijuana is a principle recognized by a referendum, but negated by the Government. A shipyard where workers, all drug-addicted, were paid with heroin, has been discovered near the city of Oporto. A similar way of "paying" was already used by a Rom community of drug dealers.

Caribbean islands, where political instability is the rule, are easy targets for Narcos cartels and drugs itself. Through the Antilles passes 40% of the cocaine sold in the U.S. The drug trafficking has provoked a very violent environment; the islands has asked help from the States. The Doctors' Guild of Berlin has taken an official position on the liberalized distribution of heroin: to put in relation the different expectations to this praxis can seem "illuminating at a first glance", but if seen more profoundly, one can easily discover that it is "unrealistic". The objective of helping the drug-addicts and eliminating drug trafficking cannot be achieved by tolerant attitudes toward heroin.

In Slesia pharmacies will not be allowed to sell hashish. The Federal Institute of Pharmacy has rejected the authorization to join the experimental program presented by the Region.
