The dispute between the owner of a coffee shop and the Public Treasury which was expecting him to pay taxes for a table he was renting to a hashish dealer is over. After a long judiciary course the case reached the European Court. The sentence says that although states cannot profit on illegal drugs, this specific case is to be considered an interruption of service.

The Europpean Union is about to approve, maybe even within this month, the new laws against money laundering. Up to this day such regulations only took into consideration the money made from drug traffic. Now, it seems, they will also include crimes related to terrorism, kidnapping and arm traffic.

In a report to the Congress the U.S. General Accounting Office says that cocaine and heroin production has grows by 50% since the Government has started its intense funding of anti drug plans (280 million USD). Colombia is in third position among the countries that receive such help.

Argentina seemed to be immune to drugs. Instead drug consumers in this country are double the number they are in the USA, and there also is a great deal of money laundering and corruption. The DEA has decide to install in Buenos Aires the biggest anti drug centre south of the equator, to avoid that Argentina should ever become another Colombia.
