Studies undertaken by psychologist anthropolist R.Ingold on the effects of ecstasy show massive distribution, in particulary among those who were already users of marijuana and cocaine, a tendency to underestimate its effects, and a connexion between the so-called 'periferie-rap-cannabis' and 'centre discotheque ecstasy' markets.

Research on legal and illegal drugs: tobacco smokers have a higher percentage of users willing to stop compared to users of marijuana, cocaine and heroin. Psycologist Dalcy thinks this owes to the greater effectiveness of anti-tobacco campaigns, as compared to those against other drugs.
