REUTER 17/3/1995
BRUSSELS Senior European Commission and Canadian official resumed talks on Friday to try to resolve a fisheries dispute in the North Atlantic, a Commission official said.
The talks, which began on Thursday after the release of a Spanish trawler at the heart of the row, cover political and technical issues.
These include recent Canadian fisheries protection measures, the allocation of a 27,000 tonnes 1995 quota for Greenland halibut fixed by the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (NAFO) and enforcement of the quota.
