(Moscow, 11 June 1991) - Two Soviet independent peace activists and members of the Radical Party - Nikolaj Khramov and Aleksandr Pronozin - coming from Brussels among the delegation of Supreme Soviet of USSR, were detained today in Moscow airport Sheremetjevo. During the careful search the materials about conscientious objection in Belgium and in Germany, also the documents of War Resisters' International were seized. In spite of the fact, that both were going via green corridor, they were separated and after the personal identification detained.
The delegation from 7 persons, including Igor Bogdanov, deputy of Supreme Soviet of USSR, also lawyers, journalists and conscientious objectors, studied during one week on the invitation of Free University of Brussels (VUB) the Belgian experience of alternative civilian service for conscientious objectors.
The customers communicated to Nikolaj Khramov that seized materials will examined in KGB during one week and thereafter will be decided, to give it back or not.
