(Moscow, 24 June 1991) - Collecting of signatures under the Radical Party's petition to recognize right of conscientious objection and to introduce alternative civilian service is continuing.

Among about 10.000 signatures are names of Boris STRUGATSKY, famous writer on science fiction; Nina KATERLI, writer from Leningrad; Ales ADAMOVICH, famous writer, peace activist and member of Public Council of "Memorial" Society; Sergej KOVALEV, former political prisoner, member of Presidency of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, member of Human Rights Commission of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR; Anatolij ZHELUDKOV, the parliamentarian representative of Russian Green Party.

The Radical petition officially joined also "Rossijskij Komitet Helsinkskoj Grazhdanskoj Assamblei" (Russian Committee of Helsinki Civilian Assembly), "Komitet Soldatskih Materei" (Committee of Soldiers' Mothers), "Rossijskoe Obscestvo Mira" (Russian Peace Society), Liberal group of Moscow City Soviet, "Mezhdunarodnaja Associacija Grazhdanskij Mir" (International Association "Civic Peace").

Collection of signatures, including using street tables on Moscow streets will be continued.
