On May 22 Military Prosecutor's Office of Vitebsk city

(Belorussian Soviet Republic) opened criminal case

against Lebedev Oleg Vladimirovich according article 70

of the Belorussian Criminal Code "evasion of the regular

call up to active military service". On August 25 Oleg

Lebedev sent statement of his conscientios objection to

military service to his local recruitment office. His

objection is based on political grounds, he does not want

to serve in the army which is used against population in

its own country and he is opposed against mass violations

of human rights within Soviet armed forces.

Lebedev Oleg Vladimirovich was born on March 13, 1969;
