MOTION OF FEDERAL COUNCIL OF THE RADICAL PARTY ON SITUATION IN EX-YUGOSLAVIA(Moscow, 30 September, 1991) - Aleksandr Kalinin, deputy of Mossoviet and member of Federal Council of the Radical Party, was received today in the Supreme Soviet of Russian Federation by Vladimir Lukin, chairman of the parliamentarian commission for foreign affairs.
Radical representative delivered the motion of Federal Council of RP passed unanimously at 22 September 1991. In the conversation with Mr. Lukin Aleksandr Kalinin underlined the urgency and necessity to stop all kinds of Soviet arms supplies to Yugoslavian federal army to stop military aggression in Croatia.
Vladimir Lukin said that situation in Croatia is not very clear for Russian parliament and "anyway both sides in this conflict are not right". According Mr. Lukin, Soviet arms supplies to Yugoslavian army are not reason of conflict. By the other hand, told the chairman of the parliamentarian commission, Germany and other Western countries furnish the arms very active to Croatia and Slovenia.
Vladimir Lukin told however, that in case if EC or U.N. will officially ask Soviet and Russian leadership to stop arms supplies to Yugoslavia, "the question have a chance to be resolved positively".
Aleksandr Kalinin informed Mr. Lukin also about parliamentarian initiative of Emma Bonino and other Italian MP against arms trade and delivered the text of resolution of the Italian parliament on the questions of arms trade.
