(Kiev, March 6, 1992) - The demonstrations against death
penalty were organized today in front of the Ukrainian
parliament and Supreme Court of Ukraine by Kiev members of
the Radical Party under slogans: "No to death penalty",
"Stop new senteces", "Independent Ukraine without death
penalty", "State has not right to kill".
Radicals delivered the letters addressed to president of
Supreme Court Mr. Yakovenko and speaker of parliament Mr.
Pliushch, contenting the appeal to abolish death penalty in
Ukraine and to adopt moratorium on new death sentences
untill changing of national legislation. In particularly,
they asked to abandon the sentence to Oleg Makovetsky, 20
years old Donetsk habitant, which case will be listened in
Supreme Court at 12 of March.
During the action two new members joined Radical Party.
