In Sarajevo as in Warsaw, against the Muslim population today as in the past against the Jewish one. A population whose only guilt is that of being Bosnian and Muslim. The press, the parties, the Italian politicians, the Parliament, are covering themselves with shame: for a year they have been the political, human and juridical accomplices of these "trifles for a carnage".

Does the Vatican want to share the responsibilities of the silences of the past? Is Brussels the capital of a Europe which we should relinquish?

The work of so-called "ethnic reorganization" is nothing but a Nazi work, even if Belgrade has eliminated the Nazi-Bolshevik military, guilty of not exterminating with sufficient expedience and energy. I hope Croatia will not follow the example of the Slovene cowardice or of the cynicism which seems to prevail in Ljubljana. I hope the Serbian democrats, the Albanian populations, the Hungarian and other minorities will not be left alone in the midst of a tragedy.

The Belgrade regime, in all its components, is a regime made of war as well as ordinary criminals.

On this front, the Italian Left is even worse than the Right or the Centre. The Radical Party alone, in Italy and elsewhere, is taking on itself, in the European Community, in about twenty parliaments of Eastern Europe - with initiatives on the theatres of war and extermination, with the nonviolent initiatives of its representatives - this Resistance to war, to Nazism and to the complicity with Nazism enacted by everyone, including the "pacifists", as usual.

If we want to avoid Sarajevo from becoming like Warsaw, or its Muslim district like that of the ghetto of this city - which is already occurring in these hours - we need to intervene with adequate measures, not with shameless and accomplice chatter.

Bribes in Milan, presidential elections, politicist intoxication of Parties, Leagues, Movements of all orientations; all this proves how in the absence of transnationality, in the absence of

the transparty element, without personal and political nonviolence, everything becomes the alibi and the shame of a universe of pharisees and Pontius Pilates.

As far as I am concerned, I will vote for no one who remains silent and inactive these days, even if the "risk" is voting for none.

I invite all Italian radicals to personal and nonviolent mobilization, without laying the organizational burden on the Radical Party: they should entreat the media, the parties, they should write, send telegrams, sign, demonstrate.

Unless the establishment intervenes adequately, in a few days I will switch to a total hunger and thirst strike to urge the respect and the enforcement of laws and duties.
