(Chisinau, May 2, 1993) - Moldovian members of the Radical Party have bugun petition campaign to collect signatures under appeal not to introduce into the new Moldovian Constitution Article 21 (3), which speaks about possibility of death penalty and which is taken - word by word - from the old Soviet Constitution. This campaign was organized in the framework of a large discussion on the draft of new Constitution which has to be voted in Parliamnet approximately in June this year.

On 2 May in Chisinau has taken place a rock concert under motto "For right of life", which became in fact an official presentation of this petition campaign. 250 signatures against death penalty were collected during the concert. Moldovian TV and many newspapers have reported about this action.
