(Kharkov, May 15, 1993) - The public assembly of the Radical Party - already second time in this city - has taken place today in Kharkov, a million city in Eastern Ukraine which was capital of Soviet Ukraine in the '20s. About 100 persons have taken part in this manifestation, which was organized in the City Culture Center. The meeting was chaired by Vladimir Ivanov, Radical militant from Kiev, Nikolaj Khramov, member of General Council of the RP, and Mykola Dvirnyj, journalist and Radical militant from Kharkov.
The main questions which were discussed during the assembly: campaign against death penalty and initiative on the draft of the new constitution in Moldova in the framework of this campaign; appeal to United Nations for the international tribune on military crimes and - of course - membership campaign for 1993.
22 new members have joined Radical Party during the manifestation in the Culture Center, among them - Viktor Mahonin and Olga Miroshnik, deputies of city council of Kharkov.
On the assembly a camera group of Tonis TV (an independent TV company, the most popular in Eastern Ukraine) was presented and at the same evening the big report about the meeting was broadcasted.
