(Chisinau, June 2, 1993) - The assembly of Moldovian MP which are members of the Transnational Radical Party has taken part today in the conference hall of Seabeco Moldova Hotel.
In the meeting have taken part Andrea Tamburi and Nikolaj Hramov, members of General Council of the Radical Party, and Vladimir Ivanov, coordinator of the Radical activity in Moldova. Among 36 deputies of Moldovian parliament - participants of the assembly, were following known Moldovian politicians: Alexandru Burian (independent), chairman of the commission on foreign affairs, Petru Munteanu (Congress of Intellectuals), vice chairman of the constitutional commission, Alecu Renita (Ecological Movement), Ilia Trombitchi (Concord faction) and others.
The assembly was dedicated to the preparation for the Assembly of Parliamentarians and first session of General Council which will take part in Sofia on July 8-11 this year.
One of the basic political issues which were discussed during the assembly was Radical campaign against death penalty. The appeal of Moldovian deputies to exclude from the draft of the new constitution the article about death penalty has been adopted on the assembly (see the next text in Agora News NR).
Almost all the participants have spoke about the urgent necessety for the Radical Party to effort the international pressure in order to stop Russian occupation of Eastern rayons of Moldova, to withdraw the 14th Russian army from Transnistria and to stop the political, economical and military support of separatist regime in Tiraspol from side of Russian Federation. Many speakers have told also about necessety of more effective support from side of Western countries the positive democratic changes in Russia.
