Transnaztional Radical Party holds silent Demonstration at the Opening of World Conference on Human Rights

Leading Transnational Radical Party activists inside the conference hall held up a banner reading "Save Tibet" at the start of the proceedings of the UN World Conference on Human Rights, to remind governments and NGOs present of the unpardonable exclusion of the Dalai Lama, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, to speak at the Vienna Conference on Human Rights, makes the drammatic situation of the Tibetan people on the part of China-one of the countries most guilty of the abuse of human rights and whose laws still provide for the death penalty - is more serious than ever at the present time. The exclusion of the Dalai Lama from an assembly of such international importance is an extremely disturbing sign. If it is Peking that unrelentingly denies Tibet the right to speak at international conferences, one can well imagine the kind of pressure the Chinese are putting on the people of Tibet who, formore than forty years, have been the victims of the most violent and atrocious type of occupation carried out in Aia during t

he twentieth century.
