(Kiev, September 18, 1993) - On the first day of international mobilization for the immediate setting up the International Court to judge war crimes committed in ex-Yugoslavia, Ukrainian Radical militants have opened the street table on Maidan Nezalezhnosti - the main square of Ukrainian capitol - to collect signatures under the International Appeal to the United Nations and to distribute informations about this campaign and Radical Party.
In spite of the rain and forceful wind, since 11 am till 9 pm 404 signatures (not only Ukrainian, but also from South Korea, Nigeria, Russia, Iran, United States, Germany, Poland, Nepal, Pakistan, Croatia and Estonia) were collected. 14 new members have joined Radical Party for 1993 during this action. This action was performed by many Radicals living in Kiev, first of all by Aleksandr and Natasha Kostrickij, Elena Vorotnikova, Andrej Priscenko, Konstantin Maneshin, Vladimir Ivanov (member of General Council of RP).
Among the people who have signed the International Appeal to the U.N. during today's mobilization in Kiev are:
Leonid KOSAKIVSKIJ, major and Oleksandr TARANENKO, vice major of Kiev city; Steven SHENFIELD, professor of sociology, USA; Ljudmila SMORODINA and Bogdan BENJUK, known Ukrainian actors; Ivan DOROSHENKO, the main administrator of the National Opera, Kiev; Miroslav KIS, independent deputy of Croatian parliament; Evgen PASCENKO, Ukrainian writer, president of Ukrainian-Croatian friendship society; Bogdan GAVRILISHIN, a known American economist, director of the Ukrainian branch of Soros Foundation; Valentina KALINOVSKAJA, a Ukrainian ballet star; Jurij HUDJAKOV, vice president of the Union of Ukrainian Architects and others.
Tomorrow, on Sunday, September 19 the action will be renewed on the same place aside of Conservatory on Maidan Nezalezhnosti at 11 am and will continue till 8 pm.
