CAMPAIGN IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC - report from 28th September 93

In Prague, we are preparing for the demonstration "Life for Bosnia" (together with the Tolerance Foundation), as a parallel between Munich 1938 (55th anniversary) and Geneva 1993. Simultaneous demonstration will be held in Kiev and - hopefully - also in Budapest and Rome (at least a symbolic support), where Radio Radicale will devote some time to the matter.

The demonstration in Prague will present a declaration to the Czech Parliament, which should then send it to other parliaments of Europe. The practical chances of such a result are hard to assess.

Meanwhile, the campaign for the signatures under the appeal for the establishment of the international tribunal continues. Well-known personalities who joined our appeal due to the efforts of the Prague office include:

Simon WIESENTHAL, Director of the Documentation Center for War Crimes in Vienna

Allen GINSBERG, American poet (currently on European tour),

Emil SCUKA, Secretary General of the International Romany Union, Raymond REHNICER, Bosnian writer and architect, professor of Sarayevo University (currently living in Prague)

Klara VESELA, Director of FISOG Foundation (ex-MP)

Josef JARAB, Rector of Palacky University.

We also hope for to receive signatures of various other personalities who have received the appeal by fax or by post.

Our struggle goes on.

Jan Jarab, Olga Cechurova, Petr Horak
