(Kiev, May 11, 1994) - The regular public assembly of the Radical Party has taken place today in Kiev Cinema House under the motto "No Peace Without Justice". 94 members and supporters of the Radical Party from Kiev city and region have taken part in this manifestation.
In the beginning of the assembly its participants rised in memory of Andrea Tamburi, member of RP's secratariat, killed in Moscow on February 27.
The basic topic in the agenda of the reunion was organizing in Ukraine the campaign for quickest institution of the permanent international tribunal on war crimes. The assembly was chaired by Natalja Vasiljuk. Nikolaj Hramov, member of the General Council, and Aleksandr Kostrickij, party activist from Kiev, informed the gathering people about Eastern March taken place in Rome on April 3 and about recent success of the satyagraha addressed to the members of the V Commission, which was crowned by assertion 11 millions of dollars as a part of the budget of the ad hoc Tribunal on ex-Yugoslavia.
The Radicals spoken on the assembly (Evgen Pascenko, president of "Ukraine - Croatia" society; Vladislav Stafijchuk; Boris Tancjura and others), told both about political and legal problems connected with international criminal court, and about some practical aspects of campaigning in Ukraine for the international tribunal on war crimes. The assembly has fixed a minimum goal: to collect in Kiev till the end of May at least 1,700 signatures under the appeal to the International Law Committee. Thus, every participant of the assembly must fill in and deliver to the RP office in Kiev one complete standard petition sheet.
During the assembly in Cinema House 10 new members have joined the Radical Party for 1994.
