MARCH 10, 1996: A FLAG FOR TIBET. FORTY MAYORS FROM 14 DIFFERENT COUNTRIES HAVE ADHERED TO THE TRANSNATIONAL AND TRANSDIVISIONAL RADICAL PARTY'S APPEAL FOR THE FREEDOM OF TIBET.

THE CAMPAIGN "A TIBETAN FLAG AT YOUR WINDOW" HAS ALSO BEEN LAUNCHED.

Brussels, December 11, 1995. With the adhesion of the mayor of Leeds (UK), there are already 40 first citizens from 14 European countries who have decided to commit themselves in a concrete act of solidarity with Tibet for its freedom: to fly the Tibetan national flag on their respective municipalities on the occasion of the anniversary of the 1959 nonviolent Lhasa insurrection, on the next March 10.

In the framework of a campaign which should lead to the organization, in 1997, of a worldwide Satyagraha for the freedom of Tibet, the Radical Party has also launched a campaign among citizens all over the world so that they will fly the Tibetan national flag in the gardens or from the windows of their homes on March 10. That's an act easy to realize, but which could mean, if multiplied, another important step in making aware, informing and acting to avoid one of the largest tragedies of our time. The aim of the Chinese authorities' policy - nothing but a real policy of ethnic cleansing by dilution - is to wipe the whole Tibetan people off the face of the earth, and thus the unique cultural, religious and linguistic heritage that it represents.

Besides saving Tibet from certain and announced death, saving the "earth's roof" now means strengthening the struggle for China's democratization.
