THE PRESIDENT OF THE UN'S GENERAL ASSEMBLY RECEIVES "NO PEACE WITHOUT JUSTICE" AND THE TRANSNATIONAL RADICAL PARTY FOR THE OFFICIAL CONSIGNMENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL APPEALS SIGNED BY OVER 800 PARLIAMENTARIANS FROM 56 COUNTRIES E BY MORE THAN 30 STATESMEN AND OPINION MAKERS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD.

THE DELEGATION WILL ALSO CALL FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRONUNCIATION OF THE UNs FOR THE ENVOY OF A MULTINATIONAL FORCE TO ZAIRE.

New York, November 12, 1996. Wednesday morning Ambassador Razali Ismail, the President of the 51st General Assembly, will receive the representatives of "No Peace Without Justice" International Committee" and of the Transnational Radical Party who promoted two international appeals for the establishment of an International Criminal Court by 1998.

The delegation is made by Adelaide Aglietta MEP Greens, Gianfranco Dell'Alba MEP Radical Alliance, Marino Busdachin General Secretary NPWJ, David Phillips Executive Director European Centre for Common Ground, Maria Giovanna Maglie "Hands Off Cain", Tania Karanasios Project Director Parliamentarians for Global Action, William Pace Convenor of the Coalition for an International Criminal Court, Marco Perduca Transnational Radical Party.

The delegation, with this formal act, asks the Organs of the United Nations to do what is in their power to urgently establish an International Criminal Court.

The appeals, to the Members of the United Nations, considering that the court will be an important deterrent against war crimes, crimes against humanity, aggression and genocide, ask "to bring to justice war criminal now and forever". This appeal has been signed, among the others, by President Alija Izetbegovic (Bosnia), Abou Diouf (Senegal), Jean-Bertrand Aristide (Haiti), Alpha Oumar Konaré (Mali), Queen Noor of Jordan, the European Commissioner Emma Bonino, Jimmy Carter, former President of the European Commission Jacques Delors, Minister Robinson, former prime Minister Amato, Barre, Gonzalez, Mauroy, Martens, Rocard, Suarez, Thorn, Tindemans, Nobel Peace Prize Perez Esquivel, Ramos Horta and His Holiness The Dalai Lama.

The delegation will also ask the President of the General Assembly to do all is in his power to hasten the members of the Security Council to take a decision, as soon as possible, for the envoy of a multinational force to Eastern Zaire, as voiced, in the last weeks, by European Commissioner for humanitarian aid Emma Bonino.
