INTRODUCTORY NOTE ON THE RADICAL PARTY

The Transnational Radical Party is a political organization: it is an association of citizens and parliamentarians of diverse national and political backgrounds that intends to obtain certain concrete objectives aimed at the creation of an effective International Law based on the rights of the individual and the affirmation of democracy and freedom throughout the world. These goals are achieved through Ghandian methods of non-violence and civil disobedience.

Campaigns promoted by the Transnational Radical Party:

- UNIVERSAL ABOLITION OF THE DEATH PENALTY

- ESTABLISHMENT OF A PERMANENT INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT

- ANTI-PROHIBITIONIST REVISION OF DRUG LAWS AND INTERNATIONAL CONVENTIONS

CONCERNING DRUGS

- ADOPTION OF A NEUTRAL AUXILIARY LANGUAGE FOR INTERNATIONAL

COMMUNICATION

- FREEDOM FOR TIBET AND DEMOCRACY IN CHINA

Membership in the Transnational Radical Party is open to everyone, and allows those who join to vote on initiatives and in elections among the directive organs during the biennial congresses.

The symbol of the Transnational Radical Party is a reconstruction of the face of Mahatma Ghandi, created by writing "Radical Party" in fifty different languages.

The Transnational Radical Party does not participate in national, regional, or local elections. It recently obtained Category One non-governmental organizational status with the United Nations.
