WELCOME WEI JINGSHENG
THE RELEASE OF WEI JINGSHENG CAN AND MUST BE THE OCCASSION FOR A STRONG REINFORCEMENT OF THE FIGHT FOR DEMOCRACY IN CHINA, FOR THE FREEDOM OF TIBET, INNER MONGOLIA AND EASTERN TURKISTAN.
Rome, 16 November 1997. The release of Wei and his forced expatriation brings back the times of the purest 'breznevism', when the soviet communist regime, very hard even if declining, was liberating itself from its most uncomfortable citizens.
To whoever thinks that they can reduce this event to a pure and simple victory of the alliance of Chinese and Western supporters of a real-politics in which is being integrated even the abyss of the great Chinese democratic resistants, we can now reply that those, like the Radical Party, Human Rights in China and several other organizations, who have conceived and carried out the struggle for Wei as well as the struggle for freedom and democracy for all the Chinese, Tibetans, Tukistanis, Mongols,... can only find in freeing Wei a new force, new and strong intelligence, for relaunching, with him, one of the most important struggles of freedom and civilization of the end of this century.
