LEGALIZATION OF DRUGS: A MORTAL BLOW AGAINST DRUG MAFIA

Moscow, June 4, 1998. The press conference is dedicated to the Global Days Against Drug War from June 5 to June 10, which are organized by the Global Coalition for Alternatives to the Drug War (a coalition of more than 90 NGOs from different countries) as an alternative to the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on drugs (UNGASS) which will be held in New York, June 8-10. The events in the framework of Global Days Against Drug War will be held in almost 50 cities of the world including Moscow.

During the press conference it will be told also about Radical Party's initiatives undertaken in the State Duma, in particular - inquiry to the Constitutional Court regarding the recently adopted anti-drug law, amendments to the Criminal Code and to the anti-drug law itself.
