Alajdin DEMIRI was born on 19 December, 1954, in Tetove (Republic of Macedonia).
In 1973 he completed his secondary studies.
1973-1977: studies in political science in Sarajevo, he obtained the diploma of the professor of sociology.
1977-1978: he works in the Television of Skopje as a political journalist in the Albanian language redaction, department of internal policy.
1978-1983: he teaches sociology and philosophy in the high school of Tetove; he is dismissed for political reasons.
1984-1988: he works in the town library and in 1988 he is again dismissed for his political ideas.
1990-1995: he studies French language and literature in Dorigny near Lausanne, Switzerland.
1995-1997: he is the spokesman of PDPA (Democratic Party of Albanian Prosperity).
1997: he is elected the Mayor of Tetove
In July 1997, following the manifestations in Tetove and Gostivar, he is accused and later sentenced to two years in prison.
He is a member of the Radical Party since several years.
