Refik DAUTI was born in 1942 in the village of Recan near Gostivar. He concludes his secondary studies and after his studies in philosophy and history in the University of Skopje.

In 1968 he is sentenced to 5 years in prison for having participated in the manifestations of 1968. After two years in prison he is set free.

For a long time unemployed because of his anticommunist biography, he finds an administrative work in 1985.

Since 1991 he is the President of the section of PDPA in Gostivar.

After the local elections of 1996, won by the PDPA in Gostivar, he is elected the President of the Municipal Council of the town.

Following the events in Gostivar, he is sentenced to two years in prison. Today he serves his sentence in the prison of "Idrizovo" near Skopje.
