Vebi BEXHETI was born on 14 February 1949 in Veshalle-Tetove.

In 1973 he concludes his studies in Albanian language and literature in the Faculty of Philology of the University of Prishtine.

1973-1974: he is the professor of languages in the technique school of Gjilan-Kosove.

1974-1996: he returns to Tetove and works in the secondary schools "Textille" and "Nikola Shtejn" as a professor of Albanian language.

1994-1996: he concludes his post-university studies and obtains the title of Doctor of Political Sciences.

Since 1997: he teaches in the University of Tetove.

After the local elections in Tetove, when the PDPA obtains the majority of votes, he is elected President of the Municipal Council.

Following the events of July 1997, he is sentenced to two years in prison.
