Dear colleague,

Considering the dramatic situation in Kosovo, we are convinced that it would be very appropriate to promote the candidacy for the Sakharov Prize 1999 of a Kosovar personality, who is distinguished for his political approach, based on dialogue, to the question of Kosovo.

Ukshin Hoti, currently detained, whose liberation has been requested several times by the EP, is undoubtedly such personality.

Hoping that our two groups will again this year be able to play a decisive role, as was the case of the attribution of the Sakharov Prize to Wei Jingsheng, we would like You, dear colleague, to accept our best regards.
