KOSOVO-NATO: AFFIRMATIONS OF THE CUBAN FOREIGN MINISTER
DECLARATION OF OLIVIER DUPUIS, SECRETARY OF THE RADICAL PARTY AND MEMBER OF EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT
Rome, 2 June, 1999. The new Cuban Foreign Affairs Minister, Felipe Perez Roque, has defined in a public declaration the action of NATO against the regime of Milosevic as "a real genocide to be punished in a exemplary way" adding also that "the Secretary Solana should be tried by the International Tribunal as a war criminal representing all the guilty persons".
Declaration of Olivier Dupuis, Secretary of the Radical Party and Member of European Parliament:"It does not surprise at all that, after the protests and negative judgements expressed by the communist regime of Beijing regarding the indictment of Milosevic, now arrives a condemnation even more vehement from the communist regime of Castro. After the decision of the Court of Lords concerning the former Head of State Pinochet and after the indictment, for the first time in the history of humanity, of a Head of State still in power by the International Criminal Court, a body of the United Nations, it becomes more and more clear that the international community, or for being more exact, the democratic part of the international community, is no more willing to tolerate those who use the Governmental functions to oppress and massacre their own citizens. The fact that the Chinese and Cuban dictators have perfectly understood it, is encouraging. We hope that they will trace as soon as possible the logic consequences:
to resign from all the governmental functions before the approaching coming into force of the permanent International Criminal Court. In the opposite case, they should be selecting the best advocates starting from now".
