Rome, 4 June, 1999. "Given the evolution of the political situation in Belgrade where the regime of Milosevic has clearly lost its arrogance and seems to be ready to accept the 5 conditions of G8, it is fundamental that the EU requests, also through its special emissary in Belgrade, Finish President Ahtisaari, that a sixth, even if already implicit, condition be immediately satisfied: the immediate and unconditional release of all the Kosovar prisoners detained by the regime of Milosevic for opinion offenses and, more generally, for political offenses and all the prisoners of war".
