APPEAL TO DEFEND OUR AND YOUR RIGHT TO SPEAK AT THE UNITED NATIONS

WE HAVE SPOKEN AT THE UNITED NATIONS with the voice of parliamentarians, dissidents,

exiles, scientists, people without a voice and human rights campaigners, who since 1995 have been able, thanks to the Transnational Radical Party, to use the forum of the United Nations to denounce the cases of violation of justice and destruction of lives which were taking place all over the world.

WE HAVE SPOKEN AT THE UNITED NATIONS even when we should not have been able to because we were imprisoned, for many years for political crimes, or because the defence of the Declaration of the Rights of Man seemed to politicians and statesmen to be a dangerous luxury or a pointless show of pride.

WE HAVE SPOKEN AT THE UNITED NATIONS also when the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the legitimate Chechen parliament, Akhiad Idigov, a member of the TRP, addressed the Human Rights Commission in Geneva, not against the Russian Federation but for the respect of the elementary human and civil rights which the citizens of Chechnya too should enjoy.

WE HAVE SPOKEN AT THE UNITED NATIONS, and precisely because of our open support for the Chechen cause, the Russian delegation at the United Nations has asked for the expulsion of the Transnational Radical Party from the United Nations.

WE HAVE SPOKEN AT THE UNITED NATIONS every time that someone, in the various seats of the United Nations, has been able to speak freely, also to express ideas different from ours; for this reason we cannot accept that the TRP should be expelled for a crime of opinion, simply for having proposed a reform of international legislation on drugs in the direction of anti-prohibitionism.

NOW THEY WANT TO KICK US OUT

The expulsion of the TRP would be an attack on the freedom of opinion and of expression. It is for this reason to defend our (and your) right to speak that although we do not share all the objectives of the Transnational Radical Party, we have decided to defend its freedom, by supporting its extraordinary enrolment campaign and therefore becoming members of the Party for as long as this intolerable threat continues to exist.

We invite you to do likewise, to continue with us and with many others like us to speak, thanks to the Radical Party, at the United Nations.

WE MUST NOT ALLOW THEM TO KICK US OUT OF THE UN !
