Tenzin Drangsong will lead a discussion on the general status of human rights in Tibet, his experience living under Chinese occupation, escape into exile, and his upcoming hunger strike directed toward the United Nations at the celebration of its 50th anniversary in New York City.
Despite world wide awareness of the Tibet crisis, the U.N. has refused to recognize Tibet as an illegally occupied country and the Dalai Lama and Government-in-Exile as its official representatives.
This event with Tenzin Drangsong is sponsored by Students for a Free Tibet, Wisconsin Tibetan Association and UW Greens. All are cordially invited to attend this discussion on October 10, 7:00 pm at Press House-2nd fl. (opposite UW Memorial Library).
Tenzin Drangsong will be speaking at a local radio station to talk about his mission.
